About the Host

Matt - (Previous projects include: Finale Design, VancouverSlop, Breaking Bread Podcast, Sole Searching) 

Matt - (Son of Harriet/Haruye) is a third generation Japanese Canadian who grew up going to Powell Street Festivals, mom's karaoke parties, and eating rice balls but never really affiliated himself with the Japanese culture til much later in life.  "I am not sure where my love for Japanese culture started, perhaps it was when  I first saw Harry Aoki  in 21 JumpStreet or when I found out Transformers was actually a Japanese product or after watching Dragonball Z videos from Fujiya or seeing Japanese Bboys hold it down in Bboy Summit".   Matt is now a lover of Japanese food, clothing, culture and  now is excited about learning about Japanese City pop music.
